Back up and running!

Things are slowly getting back to normal after an abnormally lengthy break. We're working double time to get all the old orders out and also to get a half a dozen new releases back on track. Watch for new stuff to be announced very soon!

Hyperrealist on hold.

Hi everyone. You've probably noticed that no packatges have been sent and no email has been answered in nearly a month. I apologize for the delays in letting everyone know whats going on.

One month ago today, two local musicians (one of them a very dear friend), were shot and critically injured in what was called an attempted robbery. Luckily, both are still with us, but not without consequences. Dave Williams and Jason Statts of SURT (The Destroyer) were both hospitalized with very severe injuries - a single bullet passed through Jason's neck, shattering a vertebrae and paralyzing him then lodged itself in Dave's neck next to his spine after passing through his trachea and vocal cords. Both of these guys have a long road to recovery ahead. For a little more information on the story and how to donate (and we encourage you to), please visit www.stattswilliams.com. Anyone in the Savannah area who would like to attend can find information on the show there as well.

All of our energy here has been focused on putting together a benefit show for these two. We are working together with The Jinx (who will be hosting this show on Aug 2) and organizing a full day of music, food, raffles, auctions and more to raise as much money as possible to help our friends in their time of need. To do this and run a label on top of the already demanding day job would be impossible. We have suspended all label activitiy until monday August 5, at which time I will bust ass to get everything out the door that is waiting to ship and get all emails, promos, etc taken care of as quickly as possible. Again, I apologize for the delays, but this is the only thing I can do at the moment. Some things are more important to me than getting a record or an email out in a timely fashion. My friends are certainly one of those things.

If you have a matter that cannot wait for a few more days, please feel free to call or catch me on AIM if you see me online. Otherwise, I ask that you please be patient and let us focus on the task at hand and get through the rest of the week. Everything will be back up to speed soon enough.

Thank you for your understanding.

Pat

Red Album orders, Dudefest, New releases.

Nearly all orders for Baroness "Red Album" 2xLPs shipped about two weeks ago. There are still a handful of international orders that have yet to go out. We're working on getting those out today and early next week. If you have not received your order and would like to know if it has shipped, contact us with your name and address - NOT the PayPal transaction number. Its easier for us to look up your order this way. Thank you again to everyone who ordered. If you didn't get around to picking one up, there are a few copies left that will be put up for sale here shortly. We'll give you a heads up a couple of days in advance.

DUDEFEST was a blast. This was our first time being a sponsor at a fest and it was a great time. Big thanks to Derek Black for inviting us to be a part of it! We'll see you again next year for sure. Thank you also to Adam and Cari of Gilead Media for sharing the table space and being great folks.

BARONESS "First & Second" CD is almost ready. The printing is already done and as soon as we get the final master, its as good as done. This is both EPs on one disc, remixed and remastered, and packaged in a slick digipack. Look for it in late July. The vinyl version of this should be ready sometime in Late August. There are a lot of other new releases in the works as well that will be announced as soon as I've got a little more material in my hand. Good things lie ahead.

There are still color vinyl copies available of the ALCEST "Souvenirs d'un autre monde" LP. You can pick one up here or over at the Robotic Empire webstore. I recommend that you head over there anyway and grab the Torche "Meanderthal" LP...

BARONESS "Red Album" shipping!

Baroness "Red Album" 2xLPs have arrived and have already started shipping. As of tonight, approximately 85% of the orders have been packed and shipped with the remaining orders going out tomorrow and possibly monday. Sometime over the weekend any remaining copies will be put up for sale here. If your order was placed in May, you should be receiving an email with shipping confirmation and tracking info. Older pre-orders will not have tracking information unless you've ordered another record recently, in which case they will ship together.

Thank you, everyone, for your orders and patience. We appreciate the support and hope you dig the record.

New releases to be announced soon.

New release! ALCEST "Souvenirs d'un autre monde" LP

Hyperrealist is happy to announce the US vinyl release of one of our favorite releases of last year - Alcest "Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde". Under license from Prophecy Productions (Germany), it is one time pressing, limited to 1,000 copies.

Here is the description taken from the Prophecy Productions website:
After making a small stir in the Black Metal underground with their 2005 mini-CD, "Le Secret", ALCEST have left their origins in that scene far behind them. Their music manages to evoke a spring-like atmosphere full of beauty, intense joy and light, but also filled with yearning and nostalgia. It brings to mind memories of the innocence and bliss of a childhood long past as well as impressions of a fantastic fairyland of perfect harmony.
With his application of Slowdive and Yann Tiersen to Burzum, multi-instrumentalist Neige has created a musical concept for himself that is nothing less than revolutionary – and the actual realization of this concept on "Souvenirs d’un autre monde" has made for a peerless landmark. No other title would have done justice to this debut album, as ALCEST's songs really are souvenirs from another world.

If you've not heard Alcest, I recommend giving them a listen.

The vinyl is pressed and will be in our hands in just days. First 300 mailorder copies get color vinyl. Order here:

BARONESS "Red Album" 2xLP update.

We hit yet another snag, but things are fixed and moving right along. The band will, without fail, have copies of the vinyl with them on the Canada tour with Coheed and Cambria. Preorders will start shipping within the next two weeks. At some point before the ship date, more copies will be made available for mailorder. Thank you everyone for your patience. We apologize again for the delays.

Update on PRE-ORDERS.

Black Tusk and Skeletonwtich LPs have been shipping for a few weeks now. Baroness "Red Album" 2xLP will be shipping separately, so don't freak out if you only get the first two now. Baroness will ship in a separate package fairly soon and will be sent directly from CA to cut a week out of transit time. As soon as I'm given the ship date, I will post it here. Thank you everyone for your orders and patience.

BLACKTUSK vinyl!

BLACKTUSK "Passage Through Purgatory" LPs are on the way and will be here early next week. Orders will start shipping out on or before February 29, so keep you eyes on your mailboxes. If you've not preordered the vinyl, you can pick it up from them on the road - they'll be on tour with North Carolina's WEEDEATER beginning March 3. Tour dates are posted on the tours page.

BARONESS "Red Album" 2xLPs are in the final stages of production. As reported before, the printing is finished and its beautiful. We're just waiting on the vinyl now that we've resolved all the issues with it and expect the LPs to be done soon. We're currently working on getting the EPs back in print as well, so if you missed out on one or both of those in the past, you'll be able to pick them up soon. BARONESS will be hitting the road again soon, this time meeting up with Converge and Genghis Tron for some shows. Tour dates are posted on the tours page.

More new releases to be announced soon.

Update on new releases.

SKELETONWITCH "Beyond the Permafrost" LPs are done! They should be here any day and will start shipping out next week. The band has copies on the road with them right now, so if you're going to catch a show and you've not ordered, you can get one there.
BLACKTUSK "Passage Through Purgatory" has hit yet another snag. We stopped production on this one at the last minute to add a poster insert and once things got back on track we ran into trouble with the color vinyl. This shouldn't set us back more than a few days and we expect to have them in our hands in the next couple of weeks. Blacktusk will be hitting the road next month with North Carolina's WEEDEATER. Check out the tour page for dates.
BARONESS "Red Album" 2xLP is moving right along. Jackets and sleeves are done, but again we're having issues with vinyl. I expect to get news from the plant any time on this one as well and we will be on our way yet again. This is no doubt the most anticipated, most labor intensive and most expensive project we've tackled to date. Please be patient as things are going as quickly as possible. Good records take time and this one is very, very good.

The GET RAD/CALL ME LIGHTNING split 7" is finally out! Head over to Scenester Credentials to pick up a copy or two. Limited to 600 copies - 300 clear / 300 blue.

BLACKTUSK have recorded a song for a split 7" with THE HOLY MOUNTAIN. Look for this to be released on No Idea. Also be sure to check out their feature in the February issue of RockSound magazine! BLACKTUSK t shirts, hats and coozies are now available from Shirtkiller!

Skeletonwitch "Beyond the Permafrost" LP close to shipping!

Skeletonwitch "Beyond the Permafrost" LPs will be in our hands in less than two weeks! Color vinyl will be shipped out to the first 200 preorders and will also be available from the band on tour with Job for a Cowboy and The Red Chord later this month as well as from the Prosethetic Records webstore.

An update on preorders.

Thanks a ton to everyone who has preordered the new vinyl releases! I'm getting a lot of emails asking for ship dates on these, so here's the lowdown... These were in production when the printing/pressing facilities closed down for the holidays, delaying them by a couple of weeks. I expect the Blacktusk and Skeletonwitch LPs to be ready in mid-January. Baroness 2xLPs are taking a bit longer due to how many times all of the parts must change hands, but should be completed soon after. Keep an eye on this site for updates. Orders for single LPs will be shipped as soon as they arrive. Orders for more than one LP will likely be shipped together depending on how close the estimated ship dates are to one another. Again, I will post updates as more information is available. Thanks again!

New releases. New mailorder.

Preorders for the BARONESS, BLACKTUSK and SKELETONWITCH LPs will go up in a matter of days. With a little luck, maybe even tonight. All preorders will be shipped from Savannah as soon as they arrive from the plant. All of these are in the works now and I expect the orders to ship in the first half of December. All Hyperrealist mailorder is now filled by Robotic Empire. You can buy from their webstore by visiting them directly - http://www.roboticempire.com - or by using the links on our releases page. Robotic is a well oiled machine and I'm extremely happy to be working with them. Everyone should get their orders much quicker than ever before. Thanks, Andy! In early '08 we will have the BARONESS EPs back in print, a repress of CIRCLE TAKES THE SQUARE "As The Roots Undo" LP and some more new releases. We are currently hammering out the details on a bunch of new records and updates will be posted as these projects become definite.

Overdue update! Lots of new records.

There's not been a single update this whole year, so we're definitely long overdue. Things got a bit quiet here late last year with Baroness in Europe and the following holidays, but the Spring saw a lot of new recording and now summer is here and with it new tours and releases. The DAMAD retrospective CD is still in the works. That's been a slow project due to all of the art and liner notes involved and the seemingly endless task of acquiring and assembling it all. After taking this long to get it ready, I'm considering adding a little something to the package. Stay tuned for details on that. BLACK TUSK returned to the studio with Phillip Cope and have completed their full length LP/CD for Hyperrealist to be released in late summer. The first pressing of the CD format will also include a DVD with videos, a live set and photo gallery. I'm sure everyone has heard the news by now that BARONESS has signed to Relapse, who will be releasing their debut full length. Hyperrealist will be releasing a very limited vinyl version of this record about the same time the CD from Relapse drops in early September. These will be available mostly through the website and preorders, but the band will have some on the road with them as well. After these have sold, Relapse will take over vinyl pressing of the LP, but the packaging will be different so as not to confuse anyone. Watch the website for more details on how and when to order. My advice is to move quickly on it. We're going to make it really special. While on the subject of Baroness, the EPs will be out of print for a short while after the current pressings sell out. If you're still missing one of those, I would move on that pretty fast as well. More news on those at a later date. There are a couple of other new releases in the works for late summer and early fall - more on that in a few days. GET RAD have just released a new 7" on Level Plane and have two split 7"s on the way - one with Protestant and another with Call Me Lightning. Great stuff! Be sure and pick it up.

Tours! Black Tusk will be hitting the road twice this summer. First in July with Ohio's SKELETONWITCH, then again in September. BARONESS will be doing more U.S. dates in September followed by a second European tour in October. Dates for these tours will be posted as soon as I have them. GET RAD will be on the road for an east coast tour in a matter of days. Dates are posted now here and on the bands website (www.thunderinyourheart) and on their myspace page as well. More news soon...

New site!

As you can see, the new website is finally up. Keep an eye out for updates and new content. BARONESS "Second" 12" preorders are currently shipping. Anyone who ordered should be receiving their copy shortly. Please be patient as the holidays have got the mail a little backed up. Thanks!
